HP has confirmed that it will reduce its workforce by 5,700 across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) over the next two years.
It will start consulting with representatives in each country in the second half of June, although it said it was not yet known how many would come from the UK.
It said in a statement, "The break-down of affected positions in businesses and functions on country level will be evaluated in the coming weeks."
However union Unite yesterday said HP is moving some of its manufacturing work from Scotland to the Czech Republic, with the loss of around 800 jobs.
