Top security startups to prepare for the funding battle in global security challenge

 Thirteen of the most promising security startups worldwide go pitch for funding in London head to head a dragon den style next month. Final fifth global security challenge on 11 November see mentoring programs and funding of $300,000 go € (£ 190,871) for the best security SMEs and $200,000 to the best start. Global security challenge is an annual business competition for security innovators and researchers with finalists selected security and technology experts in a rigorous selection process.

The cash prizes are funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, but previous finalists were able, additional capital and win new business though competition. The technologies compete for 1.Price and the attention of investors include a defense against attacks on Web with virtualized browser, a low cost, biometric and cryptographic technology, an identification technology is based on the unique movement of peoples eyes and a pocket - or package sniffing technology.


Fall often excellent company on track because you have no access to finance and investors confidence because the technology they offer is so specialized to invest, said Richard Wilson, head of the global security challenge. Last year's SME prize went to UK company Kromek, went the award for the most promising security start to Israeli company Adaptive imaging technologies. Kromek produces a range of detection systems and was praised for its liquid system threat and a unit for the screening of several containers. This year's finalists include online security iWebGate company headquartered in the UK and Australia and semiconductor company DecaWave from Ireland.
