Sky News owner BSkyB has joined forces with Microsoft to give Xbox owners the chance to watch live television on their broadband-enabled games consoles.
The Sky Player will come to Xbox in the autumn, giving subscribers access to live pay TV channels - including Sky Sports - and a comprehensive on-demand library.
For a new customer joining Sky through their Xbox, it will offer a range of live channels and on-demand content via a number of different subscription packages.
Alternatively, customers will be able to access shows on a pay-per-view basis.
Meanwhile existing Sky customers who own an Xbox will gain another viewing option, in addition to their Sky set-top box and PC or Mac.
The service will span entertainment, movies, documentaries, kids, culture, news and sport.
